Welcome! My name is Kristin McCann, and I am a Chicago-based writer and researcher. I have spent 15+ in the higher education sector where, among other responsibilities, I have led digital marketing strategies for top 10 universities and programs. These experiences led me to my passion for brand identity and the ambition to help clients and their brands excel. My niche is lifestyle and modern luxury brands, but I enjoy working with a variety of clients.

With formal training in persusive writing and visual rhetoric, social science research methods, and diversity, equity, and inclusion, I am positioned to meet the unique needs of your brand–including but not limited to reaching your target auidence(s) (I am fluent in Gen Z and Millennial audiences; have worked in STEM contexts extensively), inclusive copywriting, strategic storytelling, competitor analysis, and more.

In my research, I am committed to amplifying the voices of historically underrepresented and underserved groups such as women and people of color, and I have presented and published several studies in leading national, peer-reviewed publication outlets.

I value a strengths or asset-based approach to my work. My Gallup Clifton Strengths Top 5 are Context, Empathy, Adaptability, Individualization, and Responsibility.

In other words… I am natually interested in where my clients are coming from, I can put myself in my clients’ shoes, I enjoy working with a varity of stakeholders, there is not a one-size-fits-all approach to working with clients, and follow-through and execution are everything.
